Lacy Scorpion Flower’s nectar-filled blooms are is a hit for a wide range of pollinators in mass plantings, where they are closely grown together (often just 6-12 inches apart). Blooming in the spring and early summer, the scorpion-tail shaped fiddlehead clusters feature masses of lavender-colored 5-petaled flowers with long stamens.
Reaching 1-2 feet in height, this wild native of the Western U.S. is great along borders and rock gardens. Very tolerant of both poor and dry soils, and useful as a winterkill cover crop, Lacy Scorpion Flower is an excellent addition to just about any pollinator-friendly garden and/or homestead.
